Creative Director

The Creative Director will oversee SeQuel’s internal & external creative teams to ensure new and impactful creative work that will deliver strong results for our clients. This role will help to formulate the creative strategy, concepts and themes for all client campaigns (direct mail and/or digital marketing) – in collaboration with account managers and marketing teams.

In this role you will:
  • Seek to enhance SeQuel’s existing creative processes and carefully track progress and creative performance per campaign.
  • Collaborate with account managers to obtain knowledge of the clients’ brand guidelines, testing history and campaign expectation
  • Work with account managers on creative strategy for new and existing clients.
  • Lead brainstorming/creative sessions with client teams to generate ideas, test concepts, themes and strategies for all SeQuel creative projects.
  • Participate in Creative Kick-Offs with account manager and creative team.
  • Help to prepare & participate in all creative presentations to SeQuel clients – in collaboration with account managers & marketing strategists.
  • Edit all generated content and presentations, approve/reject ideas and provide feedback to the creative teams.
  • Hire, train and manage internal and/or external art directors & copywriters to maximize their talents and consistently build winning creative.
  • Help to achieve SeQuel’s goal of realizing the best possible outcome for our clients’ campaigns – both visually and statistically – to meet customer expectations and drive our agency’s growth.
Position requirements include:
  • Experienced in the nuance of direct response advertising, with an appropriate appreciation for the balance between style and function.
  • Five+ years of proven experience as a creative director – or in a similar creative role.
  • Hands-on experience in creative process, including copy writing, marketing, graphic design and/or brand adherence.
  • Strong value-based, team-oriented leadership skills that fit the SeQuel culture.
  • Outstanding leadership and organization skills with creative teams.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • BSc/BA in advertising, fine art, design or relevant field; MSc/MA will be considered an asset.
